Case Studies Number Four--amazon.com:Iconography/Imagery

Images and photos attract more customers / users than less imagery since it is a site that sell things. Buyers will first look at pictures and products that interest them the most, then consider products features to see if they really need them. I would want more photos and imagery because I think photos tell people more than words.

I really like the icons and symbols in amazon.com since they not only represent something, but also add some color and interests on the page. I think they are appropriate for the site and very easy to understand.
