Case Studies Number Three--cnn.com:Architecture

The site appear not to have a very deep architecture and by looking at cnn.com's site map, there are only three levels in the site.

This site is a little bit confusing for me because most of the time when I click on a link, other unpredictable things appear such as addition navigation system or background color change. Furthermore, when I visit the political news section, the whole page layout changes and the primary navigation becomes side navigation.

I think it is a good thing for users who know the site very well and understand where they are heading to. However, it is not a good thing for users who are not familiar with cnn.com and get confused about what to do next.
