The site does not appear to have a deep architecture. By looking at the site map of starbucks.com, I can tell that there are not many pages in the site, either deep levels.
The architecture is partially flat, as I can access any page within the site at anytime. However, additional side navigation appears when I visit further levels of the site. I think it is a good thing for small site like starbucks.com since it does not have too many sections. Each section can have its own side navigation to categorize more detailed content for users' easy access.
