Case Studies Number Eight--starbucks.com:Site Focus

The objective of the site is providing information to users about Starbucks and its products. There is a search engine but not really powerful and it only accepts word or phrase. Long sentence or questions are not accepted and a running error will occur reminding users that no results are found.

I really like the nutrition section because I am more interested in how many calories in each product than their price. I think it is very convenient for customers to find out how many calories they will eat for specific products. I find this feature the most useful among others.

The site's design is very easy to understand. The only thing I am confused when I first start using the site is that on the home page there is a link says "start shopping". When I click it, it brings me to a page which has a total different design from starbucks' site. I am confused whether I go to a different site. Until I see the logo, I know I am still in the Starbucks' site. I think designers should keep all pages consistent so that users know where they are and whether they are still in the site.Main theme
