Case Studies Number Eleven--walmart.com:Navigation

There are two navigation systems on the home page and most of labels in the navigation systems make sense to me. The primary navigation system looks more prominent than the secondary navigation because of its position and font size. The reason that this site is designed in this way is the primary contains the most essential information that users want to know when they first enter the site, including orders' tracking, account information and so forth.

When I go to further levels of the site, additional navigation systems appear. I can tell they are navigation systems since they have list of labels and link to different sections in the site.

I always know where I am since there is a location indicator navigation system right below the primary navigation on any pages in the site. By looking at it, I can tell my exact location. Furthermore, I never encounter problems that I cannot go back to the home page and there are so many ways to go back to the index in walmart.com.
