Case Studies Number Three--cnn.com:Site Focus

cnn.com is a news site. It offers different areas of news including political, international and national, entertainment and so forth.

There is a search engine (powered by Google) that enables users to search within the Internet, CNN news or CNN videos. The search engine does not provide very detailed search options and cnn.com only uses google as the main engine, so users can only do general search in cnn.com.

I think the most useful feature in cnn.com is categorized news. It is easier for users to find news or information they are interested in. For instance, if users want to know the recent election campaign news, they just click politics and there is a news section for the campaign.

I find the site layout is a little bit confusing. There are too many words on the home page and some of other pages. Some texts are too small for me to see and they seem really crowded. I would suggest the designers for cnn.com to give more space between sections on the page. Also, they should increase some of the font size for people who do not have good eye sight.
