Buttons look more prominent than labels in the navigation systems on any pages, especially the ones that on the home page. However, I think labels in the navigation should be more outstanding than other page elements. The way to improve would be assign more bright or attractive colors to the navigation links.
Colors and font weight are the two technique that make the headlines look more prominent than the other elements. The labels of the navigation are very clear. For instance, if I click on the label "maps", it will bring me to the map section with the big headline saying "Yahoo! Local Maps".
